Smart home solutions provided by a major national brand that normally designs systems for commercial environments such as cinemas.
Aim: to convey how products meet the needs of small and large residential customers, through a modern aesthetic that appeals to early technology adopters. Website was intended to communicate precision, modernity and how simple controls could transform the home (through media, acoustics, lighting, and climate).
Built user personas in a collaborative process with the client, to understand the goals of the users and use this to develop the user journeys. The website showcased products based on relevance, in the shortest amount of time, illustrating the responsive, tailored and effective nature of the MexHome service.
Spent significant time in organising the content according to user journeys. Decided to present the large catalogue by organising product categories by the designed purpose of the products, such as ‘entertainment’.
The whole website focuses on the attachment we can build between the purpose of the products and benefits to the user. E.g. an inner page focusing on ‘entertainment’ includes related imagery, an introduction, followed by the main benefit of the selected product i.e. ‘one remote controller, 9,000 options’, with a list of additional features and links to related products.
